Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you use Faber at buildwithfaber.dev and when you buy energy or the Builder plan there. Please read them before you sign in or buy.

Who we are and what these terms cover
Faber is offered by the sole trader named below. These terms govern your use of Faber and everything you buy there. Other terms only apply if we expressly agree to them.
How a contract is made
When you sign up, you enter a free contract with us for using Faber on the Free plan. A purchase – an energy pack or Builder – is made when you pay for it at Stripe's checkout. Before you pay, the checkout shows what you are buying and the price, and you can correct your details or cancel until you pay.
A product in development
Faber is in active development. Features can change, be limited or be removed. Where we can, we tell you by email before a significant change.
Your account
You sign in with your email address and password, or with Google or GitHub. Keep your access to yourself and tell us if you think someone else is using it. One account is for one person.
Plans and energy
Faber only uses energy for actions that call an AI model; everything else costs none. If such a call fails, the energy comes back to you. The Free plan gives you 12 energy each calendar month, and no card is needed. Whatever is left of a month’s allowance does not carry over to the next month. On the Free plan you can have one active project, on Builder three.
Energy packs
You can buy packs of 20 or 60 energy as one-time purchases. Pack energy does not expire. Faber always uses up the month’s allowance first and only then draws on your packs.
Builder plan
Builder is a subscription. It gives you 150 energy each calendar month and every task of the game; on Free, those tasks are open while you hold energy you bought. It is billed monthly or, where we offer it, yearly, and it renews automatically until you cancel it.
Prices
You pay the price shown to you before you buy. It includes VAT.
Purchase and payment
Purchases in Faber are sold through Link, a Stripe service. Stripe acts as the merchant of record: you buy from Stripe, which takes your payment, charges and pays the VAT, and emails you your receipts and invoices. For the payment itself, Stripe’s payment terms shown at checkout apply. Faber provides what you buy — the energy and the Builder features — and adds it to your account as soon as Stripe confirms the payment.
Help with payments
For questions about a payment, an invoice, a refund or your subscription, Link support (support.link.com) is the place to go, and you can see and manage your orders at link.com. For anything about Faber itself, contact us.
Cancelling Builder
You can cancel Builder at any time: on the page “Cancel contracts here” (linked at the bottom of every page and in the game's account menu), under “Manage plan” in your Faber profile, or in your orders at link.com. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep Builder until then. We do not refund part of a period that has started. Your statutory rights, including the right of withdrawal, are not affected.
Withdrawal and refunds

If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a statutory right of withdrawal. How it works for energy packs and for Builder, and how refunds are handled, is explained on a page of its own.

Withdrawal and refunds

Your content
What you create in Faber — your ideas, definitions, designs and files — stays yours. You allow us only what running Faber for you needs: to store and process it, to show it to you and, where you ask for a proposal, to send the necessary parts to the AI services we use for that.
AI proposals
Faber makes suggestions with the help of AI. They can be incomplete or wrong. You decide what you accept, and you check results before you rely on them. Faber writes to your repository only when you tap to merge: it then merges the checked state of a skill's branch into your main branch. For a test run, Faber builds and checks your code in an isolated environment, without your keys.
Tool recommendations and affiliate links
Faber recommends external tools that build your product, for example Lovable. Some of these recommendations may use an affiliate link: if you subscribe to the tool through it, Faber may earn a commission. We recommend a tool because it suits your project, never because of a commission. An affiliate link is labelled right next to the recommendation, and where it makes sense we also give you the ordinary link. Faber does not send your personal data to the tool; the tool’s website sets its own tracking under its own privacy policy. External tools are offered by their providers under their own terms.
Fair use
Do not use Faber for anything unlawful, do not upload content you have no right to use, and do not try to break, overload or get around the service or its security, or read it out automatically.
Availability
We work to keep Faber available, but while it is in development we cannot promise uninterrupted access. Maintenance and changes can cause interruptions.
Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breaches of essential obligations, limited to the damage that is typical and foreseeable. Otherwise our liability is excluded.
Ending use
You can stop using Faber at any time and delete your account yourself on your profile. If a Builder plan is still running, you cancel it first. Energy you haven't used ends with the account. We can suspend access if these terms are seriously breached.
Changes
We may update these terms as Faber develops. We announce significant changes by email in advance.
Law
German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in remain unaffected.
Language and contract text
You can make the contract in English or German. The current terms are always on this page, and Stripe emails you the receipts and invoices for your purchases. We do not keep a separate copy of the contract text for you.
Dispute resolution
We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If something is not right, write to us and we will look for a solution with you.
